Service Description
Julaine is a sophisticated collagen stimulating injectable product by Swedish Biotech firm Nordberg Medical. Julaine uses poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA) in an ultra-refined microspherical forn. These tiny, uniform spheres are biocompatible and biodegradable, designed to integrate smoothly into the skin with minimal risk of inflammation or nodules. Unlikely older PLLA based treatments, Julaine encourages the production of Type III collagen which is associated with healthy, youthful skin, not the type that is linked with scarring of inflammation. Its LaSynPro (Lactic-Acid Induced Synthesis of Collagen Protein) technology supports this gradual regenerative process. What has drawn Dr Khong to introducing this innovative treatment into the clinic is its safety profile and its efficacy, compared to other PLLA based treatments in the market. A typical treatment protocol involves 2 – 3 sessions, spaced 6 – 8 weeks apart, depending on individual needs. Areas that are often treated include the mid-face (cheeks), nasolabial and marionette lines, jawline and lower face.
Compared to other PLLA products which use microparticulars with broader size distribution and less surface uniformity, Julaine’s microspheres are engineered with high precision in size, shape and smoothness to allow for more predictable. With a preferential stimulation of Type III collagen, there is a lesser risk of formation of scar tissue or nodules. Julaine also favours a slightly different immune response in the body compared to other PLLA products which means less inflammation, scar tissue formation, granuloma formation and more predictable results.
